A bit about me

I’m an artist and designer based in London, UK, and I've got a bit of a bird obsession let it be known. I love nature and wildlife and landscapes and florals were the previous inspiration for all my early work.

After a really lengthy artist's hiatus, I suddenly felt inspired to dust off the sketchbook. One afternoon I looked out of my bedroom window and thought about what I should focus on next.

In that moment of me pondering my new subject, a parakeet flew across my window and squawked. And so it was... I would do a canvas series and studies on these beautiful, vibrant birds.

You can see the bird that inspired the start of the new bird era below...

The parakeets that inspired the whole era...

Months passed, as I lay in bed thinking about what could be next a small, little black and white bird would make itself known and tap on my bedroom window.

I pulled back the curtain and lo and behold, it stayed for a moment to peer into my face and then flew away. And so it was decided...

My next study would be on coal tits.

The magical tree in the garden and bird wall

My garden began to feel like a bird eden, I spotted up to 12 different types over two weeks in one particular magical tree... I even noted a revisiting wood pigeon who always seems to have a family on the way (over the years). Those inseparable collared doves... the chirping little robin and the proud Jay.

I completed almost a hundred sketches and adorned my living room walls.

Finding more meaning

I listened to the birds and they lead me to a collaboration with BirdLife International a charity close to my heart who work with charities globally and at grass roots level to preserve birds from extinction. I've partnered with them and Curated Pieces to create an exclusive collection that gives 20% back to support the work that they do.
